pullinbigs training log.

saturday 8/11/07 4pm
grappling, 2 hours

we had 2 mma fighters train us today plus a freestyle wrestler worked with us on take downs. good stuff, mostly technique work. i accidently slammed the freestyle coach hard as hell on a judo throw. felt good :D

squats, belt/wraps, 645# 2 x 3reps
leg press, 1070# x 20reps
1 arm swings, 115# 2 x 10reps ea arm
ghr, 3 sets
calves, 3 sets

do you plan on switching to a 2 day split since you training BJJ now? And how many times a week you going to pull the sled or push that slow moving bronco?lol

still plan on weight training 4/w. grappling 2/w unless something comes up.

sled work will be added in from time to time. we have so much stuff at our gym its impossible to do it all in a weeks time.
 
I hear ya, I already have my 2day split ready to go come mid september.

grappling

got some one on one time with the freestyle coach. worked on take downs, single leg, double leg, and some devasting finshing moves from both positions. worked on hand position for defending and escaping different holds. also worked on setting hooks and breaking down the turtle guard to get at least one hook in and applying a choke. worked on some judo throws and ending with an arm traingle from that on the ground. good stuff

always good to work w\ a wrestling coach--when i trained at the gracie school no takedowns and thats not good because you loose points in the tournaments. This school i am joining has a wrestling coach every saturday.

BTW John, you looking foward to seeing Couture fight next weekend?
